Really, people? It's 2011 and you're STILL wearing turtlenecks. I have two words to say about this: STOP IT! 1974 called and they want their turtlenecks back. It looks bad and tacky. And unless you're trying to hide a HORRENDOUS hickey, they serve no purpose. Man (or Woman)-up and wear a real buttoned, collared shirt. Yes, I mean that it is NOT appropriate professional or church-attire to wear a turtleneck under your blazer. Especially a black one - it makes you look like a priest who forgot the white collar tab insert. This is just an all-around bad idea. Thank you for your attention to this public service announcement.
The Lord be with you...

Observations From the Back Pew
So, while everyone else is in chapel doing something worthwhile, we are sitting in the dining hall fully embracing our total depravity and starting up this blog. In fact, we were SO happy about starting this blog, we started giggling. And then I farted. THAT'S how awesome this page is going to be.
"What is the purpose of this blog?", you might ask. It's a place for seminarians (i.e. persons in graduate school who study theology mainly in preparation to become pastors and lead congregations) to say the things we REALLY think about life, school, classmates, Jesus and of course, the Church. Here's the disclaimer. It's called Snarky Seminarians for a reason. There will be crude humor, crass language and less-than-holy comments on this page. If you don't understand sarcasm, please read this blog with someone who does. None of this content is intentionally hurtful (even though you will undoubtedly be offended at some point), just some good ol' fashioned bitching by folks who most of the world expects to be nice all the time. Everyone needs a place to vent. Just because we love Jesus doesn't mean we magically lost that need. Consider this a form of self-care for the people who will one day shepherd your soul. Yes, that thought scares us, too (sometimes).
Another rule of the blog: we work in secret. We (the authors) have adopted pseudonyms in order to protect us (the not-so-innocent) and the unsuspecting targets of our snark. Author introductions will be forthcoming.
Welcome to Thunderdome, people. Hang on and enjoy, it's going to be a VERY bumpy ride!
Peace, Love and Snark -
